Here is the first sketch of my piece of concept art.

ree

its the first drawing i did and i have removed some of the parts i was going to add due to time constrains as well as the fact i was working on trying a new art style that look longer to understand then i thought it would. Due to this i removed the faces at the bottom showing her different expressions as i had not finalised the way i wished for them too look.

Drawing in this style was completely new to me as i am used to to blending my colours and shades on different layers rather then using just one layer for all the colours. Doing it this way meant i had to take a look at the different ways the brushes could be edited to make the blending work better. This took way longer then i expected it would due to the unforeseen issues i had with picking colours that looked right as well as problems with the brushes and Photoshop freezing on me while working on it. I think the reason it froze so much was due to the fact i was running a lot of other programs on my computer, so i should make sure i reduce the load on the CPU next time i create art work like this.

After completing the bust i started work on the line art for the main body and side body of the character, so that her full outfit could be seen.

While working on the line art i had to make sure everything was where i wanted it, and make sure there was enough detail on the piece. Since i didn't want to put too much shading into it when i coloured it, due to the fact i wanted the colours to be able to be easily picked up when using it as a reference for the character.

This is the final piece, I chose to leave it looking simple as it took me so long to do the bust that i wouldn't have had time to do the rest of the body in same way. I am likely to re-visit this piece in the future to make it even better.
